Key Features

  • Light’s Loop proposes a single track, 2 way system with 8 cross over points.
  • The new transit loop will connect the four main squares of Adelaide and provide interchange opportunities to the existing tram network and current extensions that are being developed
  • The modest yet effective transit incision within the city connects the four major city precincts and encompasses 75% of the city within a five-minute walk to the transit line and 90% of the city within an eight-minute walk.
  • The loop configuration is the most optimal loop for the city grid to deliver value capture and urban connectivity

As Light’s Loop is a single track system it is able to weave its way through the narrower streets in Adelaide’s grid and by doing so is able to ‘touch’ the original squares, instead of travelling through them.

The great destroyer of Light’s original squares, the tram, can now unify the squares while provided city connectivity.
